April volunteer day

We had another lovely volunteer day at the arboretum today. Thanks to everyone that came along, great to see so many new people and returning faces.

The day blessed us with good weather so we made the most of it, moving around the site taking care of various jobs that were waiting to be done. The hedgerow was cleared of nettles, the container was painted, brambles were cut back from around the giant redwoods. In the afternoon we split into two groups, one finishing the dead hedge at the top of the site, the other taking care of a mature silver birch that had fallen in recent winds. All very productive!

Our next volunteer day is on the 21st of May, let us know if you would like to come along. We also have an Open Day coming up on the 30th of April – there will be tree walks, climbing and bat walks, more information coming soon!
