Family Wild Camp

Our summer family wild camp with Adventures in Nature was held 6th-8th June and was attended by 24 people. Bonds were formed around the campfire and parents and children alike made friends and enjoyed the community atmosphere throughout the weekend.

The group enjoyed a wild food foraging walk and made an array of treats all cooked on the fire including flat bread with wild garlic butter, (pendulous sedge) seed cakes, elderflower fritters and nettle crisps.

Stories were told until late into the evening, songs were sung enthusiastically, dens were carefully built, goats were fed and all too soon the weekend came to an end. One parent said:

‘Thank you so much for an absolutely brilliant weekend. As I shut the gate to go home with tearful boys, the noisy muntjac came to say goodbye and made everyone happy again. Beautiful.

The hard work and dedication that went in to the weekend was evident and greatly appreciated. Flynn, Rollo and myself had an amazing experience and we will definitely be back again soon.’
