Sustainable Woodland Management Internship

for Adults in Recovery from Addiction

We have been awarded funding to start a one year internship scheme for adults in recovery from addiction.

The internship in Sustainable Woodland Management is a combination of restoration work in the arboretum itself and sessions learning about wildlife monitoring, woodland management with hand tools, looking after veteran trees, bee keeping, and visits to other projects. We will be working with our partners to deliver training and support throughout the year.

We believe the scheme is a stepping stone towards further training and paid employment, for individuals who have been out of work long term as a result of alcohol dependency.

We have been awarded funding from Big Lottery Fund to run this internship.

The internship is for five people and starts in April 2016, running weekly for one year.
