September 12, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

£8.00 – £15.00

Join Chartered Arboriculturist and Environmentalist, Jim Mullholland, for a very special evening guided walk around Tortworth Forest Centre.

About this event

Dusk in late summer is a great time for bat spotting. Together with Jim you will spend around an hour and a half learning about the bat species living within the Arboretum. We’ll have a turn with bat detectors to ‘hear’ bats echolocating, discover how bats find food, how they see in the dark and exactly why they hang upside down.

Hot drinks and light nibbles will be available in the Round House after the walk.

Please Note:
– We will meet at the Round House for an introduction to UK bats before the tour begins.
– There are very limited spaces on this walk. booking on a first-come-first served basis, and must be booked in advance.
– Accompanied paying children are very welcome.
– Please dress appropriately for the weather. Sturdy, comfortable footwear and torches are essential!
– Due to paths with uneven surfaces this event is not suitable for wheelchair users or buggies.
– Assistance Dogs only are welcome on a lead.
