March Open Day
March 13 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pmFree
Our Open Days are a chance for you to come and learn more about this special place. With activities for all ages, they are completely free to attend thanks to our generous Heritage Lottery Fund grant. In March you can help us survey the flora and fauna of the site, search for spring flowers, do natural art, and hunt out a Gruffalo or two.
So bring your family, wellies, a flask, and even a picnic blanket, and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the arboretum. The perfect respite to a global pandemic! We will have some simple self-led activities for all ages, including the launch of our iNaturalist citizen science project. BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL – SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS.
Whilst we are under lockdown restrictions we are putting measures in place to ensure that our March Open Day is compliant with up-to-date regulations, and to keep our visitors, staff and volunteers safe:
- Pre-booked visits only
- 2 hour time slots
- Limited numbers on site
- Self-led activities to help you engage with your surroundings, with no sharing of materials with other households
- Hand washing stations
- We will not be providing any refreshments on this occasion
We also ask that you follow the current Government guidelines on travel, exercise, and social distancing – https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home
Prior booking is essential so that we can limit the number of people on site at any one time. You can book a slot for your household/bubble below. Only one RSVP is needed per household/bubble (there are three available per slot). Please only attend with members of your household or support bubble. Please do not turn up on the day.
The staggered visitor slots are for 2 hours, aiming to keep your arrival and departure, as well as your time on site, as safe as possible.
Once you RSVP you will see a confirmation message appear on the page. You will also receive an automated email from WordPress – please check your spam/junk folders. We will send a booking reminder in the week leading up to the event.
