The walk will begin at the handcrafted roundhouse with a brief introduction to the arboretum and safety talk before venturing out together. Jake has been part of the Tortworth crew since the restoration began, and has several tales to share of past, present and future. His wealth of knowledge about the collection is unparalleled. Come and learn something new about this magical place, whether you’re new to Tortworth or an old friend.
This is a relaxed walk with lots of time to ask questions, satisfy your curiosity and expand your perspective of exotic and native trees.

We will meet at 1pm for a 1.30 walk. We operate from a basic woodland venue with rustic furniture around the camp so do feel free to bring additional items for your comfort. With this in mind most of our pathways can be slippery and muddy at times, appropriate footwear is encouraged. This is otherwise a non-catered walk so you will need to bring along any drinking water, food and snacks you may desire. We recommend bringing a notebook or camera to help you remember all the information!
Tortworth Forest Centre is a Community Interest Company, working with limited resources. Sometimes we may have to cancel or postpone courses if they are less than 50% subscribed. We try our hardest to keep courses running wherever possible. You can help us by spreading the word to friends, family and colleagues. If an event is cancelled a full refund will be offered.
Support our work by becoming a Friend of Tortworth today. You’ll gain unlimited access to our Visitor Days for a year and receive discounts for Walk and Talk events like this one. Find out more here
