Imagine crafting your own beautiful winter wreath while nestled beside a crackling open fire, surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. In this special two-hour workshop, you’ll learn to weave a stunning wreath from sustainably grown, pre-soaked willow, guided step by step through the entire process. First, you’ll create a sturdy, reusable willow hoop—perfect for all seasons—before decorating it with an array of seasonal greenery and natural embellishments to make a truly bespoke piece.
All of this takes place in our enchanting open roundhouse, where the warmth of the fire and the comforting scent of woodsmoke mingle with the festive aroma of mulled wine and apple juice. Enjoy mince pies as you craft, letting the sights and sounds of the season spark your creativity.
Leave with not just a beautiful wreath to hang on your door, but a memory to treasure—this is more than just a workshop; it’s an experience to celebrate the season in the most natural, authentic way. You’ll be the envy of friends and family, with a handmade wreath that’s as unique as the setting in which you created it.
All tools and natural materials are included, along with tea, coffee, mulled wine/juice and a homemade mince pie. If you would prefer to bring something of your choice with you such as ribbon, baubles or bells please do so.

This event takes place in a stunningly tranquil, but basic, woodland venue. Our handcrafted Roundhouse offers shelter from the elements with rustic furniture around a crackling wood fire, whilst nearby you’ll find a compost loo and rainwater sink. Hot beverages will be provided on this otherwise non-catered evening, but please bring your own drinking water. As there is no running water or electricity at the arboretum this is a back to basics, almost off grid experience.
Tortworth Forest Centre is a Community Interest Company, working with limited resources. Sometimes we may have to cancel or postpone courses if they are less than 50% subscribed. We try our hardest to keep courses running wherever possible. You can help us by spreading the word to friends, family and colleagues. If an event is cancelled a full refund will be offered.
Support our ongoing conservation and community work with an annual pass. Friends of Tortworth can attend unlimited Visitor Days for a year whilst supporting our fundraising efforts. Every year we need to raise £100,000 to plant trees, train volunteers, pay staff, maintain tools and our minibus so that people without car access can attend our wellbeing groups. Attending events or becoming an annual pass holder helps support the ongoing conservation work at Tortworth. That means you’re investing in the wellbeing of others whilst doing something for you! We’ll call that a win win! Find out more here
