Forest school sessions are about using outdoor environment and adventure experiences to nurture people in a holistic way. Activities are ‘learner-led’ and often involve creativity, problem solving, play, cooperation, and meaningful human interaction. Our Visitor Days are a chance for you to come and explore the arboretum, and enjoy its peace and quiet. We are opening the gates one day a month, starting in February. Whilst we are under lockdown restrictions prior booking is essential so that we can limit the number of people on site at any one time. Our Open Days are a chance for you to come and learn more about this special place.   With activities for all ages, they are completely free to attend thanks to our generous Heritage Lottery Fund grant.  In March you can help us survey the flora and fauna of the site, search for spring flowers, do natural art, and hunt out a Gruffalo or two. LEARN NEW SKILLS, MEET NEW PEOPLE AND HELP RESTORE THIS UNIQUE WOODLAND. On Tuesdays we carry out general maintenance work in the arboretum, from repairing pathways, felling trees, and preparing firewood for our events.  It is a small group and we aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for people to benefit from the experience of working out in the woods.
