Guest event: Nature Connection Day

January 28 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

£7.00 – £15.00

Wild & Well celebrates connection and reciprocal relationships with nature.

Genuine nature connection brings profound happiness and increased contentment and even greater connection to others and life as a whole. We can’t all set off to the wilderness. And in any case, when you come back to your daily bread, the connection to nature isn’t always so easy to keep hold of. We need to find that awe-filled, joyful connection in our everyday lives. The lives we lead day in, day out, amongst our family and friends, our tasks and hobbies and that endless to do list.

We might need prompting or reminding to reach out and touch the magic of nature. We might need help to remember how to do this. Or we may just appreciate the extra joy of being given permission to go out and embrace our wild selves and share this with gratitude.

In short, our relationship with the natural world needs to be part and parcel of our everyday existence, and the connection real, rewarding, radiant.

There is joy in every wild corner for every domestic heart. Let us bring you closer to where the wild things are. Let us help you home.

What to Expect:

This is the second Nature Connection Session from Wild&Well; part of a series based on the 5 pathways to Nature Connection (www.derby.ac.uk/research/centres-groups/nature-connectedness-research-group/)

January’s winter session is called Wild Winter Wisdom and we will be exploring the pathway of Meaning. Connecting with nature is about much more than just being in nature. It is about how we relate to nature in our minds, through our emotions, and the meaning we glean from our experiences and interactions.

Exploring the pathway of meaning involves being attentive to the stories unfolding around you. It involves noticing what makes you pay attention and why aspects of nature makes you feel the way you do.

There is meaning, metaphor and magic all around us.

We will go on a journey of discovery – of nature and of ourselves.

Wild Winter Wisdom will focus on finding meaning, story and symbolism reflected in our world, and in the more than human life we find there. Although this session is part of a series, there is no need to have attended the first session. Each Wild & Well session can stand alone as a beautiful experience, or can be enjoyed as part of a year long course of deepening nature connection and growth.
