Discover Snowdrop season at Tortworth Arboretum
Join us for a self-guided walk through the serene Dell of Tortworth Arboretum. We’re celebrating the first signs of spring and beautiful snowdrops. For a quieter atmosphere, you may prefer our dog-free session on Saturday 7 February.
About the arboretum
Tortworth Forest Centre and arboretum is a hidden gem in South Gloucestershire, home to over 600 native, exotic and veteran trees. Once overgrown and inaccessible, it has been lovingly restored by hundreds of volunteers since 2014. As the ground was cleared, we were rewarded with carpets of seasonal blooms, including snowdrops and bluebells. Today, you’ll find meandering paths, peaceful glades and glimpses of the past; from stone steps once used by donkeys to the remnants of an old arena. Some areas remain delightfully wild, a feature we aim to preserve as it’s part of the arboretum’s unique charm and benefits local wildlife.
