We have a small but mighty team of part-time staff who manage the Dell at Tortworth Arboretum, ensure the Tortworth Forest Centre CIC is run smoothly and deliver our community events, volunteer days and wellbeing projects.
The environment sector is one of the least ethnically diverse sectors in the UK and we want to contribute to changing this. We are committed to equity of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where everyone feels they belong. We also know that diversity fosters creativity and innovation. We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are underrepresented in our team. These include people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and LGBTQI+ people.
Director
We currently have a strong team of Directors, including a Managing Director who leads the staff team. We are always open to hearing from people in our community who would be interested in joining our Board of Directors. Together we are responsible for ensuring the strategy is delivered and the organisation is run smoothly.
We have 10 Board meetings a year, usually held on Monday evenings online. The role is unpaid voluntary.
The Directors should be able to engage the public and local organisations in the story of Tortworth, inspiring them to be part of this exciting restoration and wellbeing project. As a member of our small but mighty team, you will be expected to take an active role in at least one of our public events each year.
Deadline for applications: we welcome applications on a rolling basis.
Please send your CV and covering letter detailing your relevant experience to Amy Walsh, Managing Director of Tortworth Forest Centre CIC – amyw@tortwortharboretum.org
