June volunteer day

Another great volunteer day yesterday – it was lovely weather to be amongst the trees.

We set out with scythes and rakes and cleared a large area along the footpath. Nearby volunteers with slashers cleared bracken and helped free up our new plantings which were getting quite lost.

Along the way we discovered some interesting fungi (see below), thought to be a beaked earthstar, a new species for our records.

After lunch we carried on along the footpath, also working on a recently fallen willow tree and giving our bamboo a tidy up.

Thank you all that came along!

See you next time!
