May volunteer day

We had an excellent volunteer day this month. Thank you to all that came along and put in so much energy!

All this sun has been wonderful but hard on our new trees, so we spent time watering our recent plantings. Near the centre of the site a group dismantled a root plate that is blocking a pathway, knocking off the soil to make it easier to move. In the afternoon we spent time clearing wingnut suckers and scything under our glorious redwoods. The shade of the trees was most welcome in the heat.
