September volunteer day

A joy filled and sunny volunteer day at the arboretum last Sunday. We spent the morning clearing around our veteran oak trees, digging out bramble whilst another group worked hard removing bamboo roots with mattocks.

We were on a mission to add new species to our records and spotted lots of interesting galls, insects and fungi.

A nourishing soup for lunch and we were back at it, with more brambles, bamboo and scything. It was a lovely day!

A massive thank you to all who came along. See you next time!
