April volunteer day

Yesterday was another beautiful day at the Arboretum; a lot of the trees are now in flower and the leaves are starting to emerge.

We were blessed with spring sunshine and decided to make the most of it, taking the day at a relaxed pace. That said we got lots done, in the morning we set about finishing the goat shelter, as well as making progress with clearing more brambles. After a lunch of fire-baked potatoes we took a long leisurely stroll around the site, taking in the surroundings and replacing old damaged ID tags. It’s a lovely time of year and wonderful to be outside in the spring sunshine.

Thank you to everyone that took part, we look forward to seeing you at our next volunteer day on the 15th of May. We are also running a whole volunteer week from Monday 25th-Thursday 28th of April and then have our ArborFest open day (details below) on Sunday the 1st of May. Please get in touch if you would like to come along to any or all of these!
