March Volunteer Day

We had another wonderful day in the woods yesterday. In the morning we tackled a large area in the middle of the site, removing bramble, cutting back a wall of bamboo and taking out some rhododendron roots for good measure. The cleared area now has potential for another three large trees, to be planted next year.

After some hearty soup for lunch we worked to clear around the recently fallen trees near the roundhouse, using a two person cross cutting saw, and transporting split wood to create the start of a new round firewood stack.

A massive thank you to everyone that came along and for all the energy!

Also, we have our annual Spring Celebration coming up this weekend – as usual tickets are free for volunteers, see our events page for details.

See you in the woods!
