February Volunteer Day

There was lots going on today!
We finished planting the young tree whips along the upper fence. The winding pathways leading from the old Donkey Bridge were opened up, freeing a few trees along route. We also discovered the end of the pathway steps, hidden for decades under the leaf mulch.
We all got together for a fantastic lunch, kindly made by regular volunteer Tim – it disappeared very quickly with much gratitude.
We made great progress cutting more bamboo down, opening up new pathways and steadily burning through the old piles of cuttings from previous months. Primroses and daffodils are popping up around the newly cleared areas which was nice to see.
A big thank you to everyone that came along today. It’s amazing how much the site is coming along and slowly becoming more accessible – we’re getting there!
Next volunteer day is on the 20th of March, see you then!
