New funding for our Woodland Wellbeing Programme
We’re excited to announce that we have been awarded £10,000 from Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) towards our Woodland Wellbeing Programme.
Our Woodland Wellbeing Programme supports over 100 people a year to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing through connecting with nature and taking part in meaningful outdoor activities in a safe and welcoming environment.
One participant told us “I feel safe when I am here. I am with people who aren’t demanding or threatening and we have a mutual desire to see each other do well. Being in the woods, and joining in creative activities is a tonic to the soul and gives me something real to look forward to.”
NRS is responsible for safely decommissioning nuclear sites across the UK, and fund projects in the areas around those sites; Tortworth is less than 10 miles from two decommissioned nuclear power stations (Berkeley and Oldbury).
