March volunteer day

Another nice day in the woods yesterday, with plenty of weather! We spent the day mulching trees, clearing brambles and digging out bamboo roots.

The wild garlic is out in force and we enjoyed a wild garlic, leek and potato soup for lunch. We also got the opportunity to try some freshly collected birch sap, before heading back to work.

It was a good opportunity to share happy memories of Gary and his time in the woods. He was missed by many volunteers who have worked alongside him for so many years.

With all the bluebell leaves coming though it was also a pleasing reminder of the warmer months ahead. Thanks all and see you next time!
