April volunteer day

A big thankyou to everyone that came along today. We got loads done and it was great to catch-up with everyone.
The main task of the day was dismantling the crown of an Oak tree that had fallen a few years ago. Usually covered in bracken, the area is inaccessible most of the year, so we took the opportunity to do something about it whilst we could still get to it. The majority of the crown was dutifully processed, making a stack for wildlife and saving some for firewood. Lots of sawing was done. We also managed to free a nearby Weeping Lime tree and palm that were getting swamped in by the usual suspects (brambles and Rhododendron). A great days work!
Our next volunteer day is on the 20th of May, so hopefully see you then.
We also have our Spring Open Day coming up in two weeks time on the 29th April.
