December volunteer day

Thanks to everyone who came along to our December volunteer day, it was a good day and a lovely way to round off the year.

We got loads done as usual, more clearing in the central area, providing better access to the top of the arboretum and saving a Costal Redwood that was getting swamped by Rhododendron. Lunch was a complete treat – delicious vegetable stew and Yorkshire puddings (thanks Roz!), followed up by hot mulled apple juice and mince pies, yum.

So much great work has been done this year, the impact on the arboretum has been massive, from new pathways and rediscovered trees to hedgerows and goat shelters! A massive thank you to everyone who has come along and given time to the project, it’s been wonderful to welcome so many new faces and regular volunteers and inspiring to witness all the positive work being done. Looking forward to next year!

Lastly we have put together a quick survey to help us gauge how we are doing and what could be done better, if you have a moment we’d love to get your feedback. Click here to begin

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and see you in the woods again soon!
