May volunteer day

What a lovely day! Thank you to everyone who came along and put in so much energy despite the heat.

We got lots done, firstly clearing nettles and brambles from around the Giant Redwoods and hedgerow, a chance to try out our new scythe (which worked very well!). Then after a relaxed lunch we had a quick walk of the site, admiring the Paper Handkerchief tree which is out in flower (pic below), then on to tackle knotweed and free up some trees from bramble along the public pathway. It was great to get so much done and be out enjoying the woodland on such a sunny day.

Our next volunteer day is on the 17th of June, hope to see you then.
