Last week we celebrated the season, and the easing of lockdown restrictions, with our Spring Open Day. We were joined by new and returning visitors for tree walks, heritage walks, bug hunting, and flower crowns. A lovely time was had by visitors, volunteers and staff alike! And we were blessed with a mostly dry and bright day sandwiched between two absolute shockers, so thank you lucky stars! Here is some feedback from the day:
The history of the arboretum really adds context and brings it all to life! Gary was a wealth of information.
Thanks for your efforts!
Good to see how much work has been done to preserve and improve the arboretum. Please don’t tidy the area up too much though.
The perfect discovery when staying at Tortworth Court! Gorgeous surroundings, fabulous activities for children. WILD GARLIC! And lovely like minded volunteers that are happy to talk about all things natural. Keep up the good work!
Such an amazing place ! So relaxing and a perfect place to switch off. Can’t wait to come back
Our Open Days are made possible thanks to generous funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, as well as a Magic Little Grant we received through the partnership between Localgiving and Postcode Local Trust.
We are working to restore The Dell at the Tortworth Arboretum. It is a private woodland, so if you’d like to visit then please come along to one of our Visitor Days or Open Days, or consider volunteering with us.
